Tom Goddards & Sons Ltd
Tom Goddards & Sons Ltd, is a business providing professional collection, disposal & recycling services for fallen stock, animal by-products and butchery waste throughout West Wales. The site based in Camrose, Pembrokeshire has been established since 1965
Founded by Tom Goddard, the business has been at its present site in Camrose since 1965. The site was originally operated as a conventional knackery. The family would collect dead or injured animals from all over the county. At that time, they would pay the farmers to take their dead stock. Profit was made by trying to salvage as much as possible from the carcasses. This included selling hides to the tanneries and the meat to pet food manufacturers.
In the early 1980’s Tom Goddard invested in equipment to allow them to manufacture their own brand of pet food. A good quality product was cooked, packaged and refrigerated on-site. The company delivered its product to various sites all over the UK.
The early 1990’s saw the onset of the BSE crisis and the associated national cull of cattle over thirty months old. The business activities were expanded to incorporate an animal carcass incinerator, and in order to cope with the increasing workload, mostly under Government contract, a second incinerator was installed in 1996.
In 2008 due to increasing fuel costs and changes to legislation it was no longer viable to continue the incinerating and the decision was made to use rendering as a form of disposal/recycling. The company sends all of their waste rendering facility based at Halifax.
Find out more about the rendering process here.
Over the last few years, we have worked hard to recycle as much of the material we collect as possible, and we are proud to say that these days we recycle 100% of the material we collect.
In 2016 the Goddard family sold the business to the Leo Group Ltd who are at the forefront of rendering and recycling in the UK. Leo Group is one of the UK’s leading collectors of animal by products, who specialise in the processing of these by products into meals, oils and petfood ingredients, which are exported around the world. Every year Leo Group collect and process in excess of 1.25 million tonnes of waste material. From this processing operation they produce 130,000 tonnes of protein meal and 70 million litres of purified fats per year. The meal and fats are used across a range of industries, including biofuels, cosmetics, pet food, oleo chemical, agricultural and power industry.
Tom Goddard and Sons Ltd is actively reviewing its practices and exploring alternative technologies which we hope will make the business of animal collection and disposal more cost effective.
The aim of the company is to provide the farming community and the like with a high quality, efficient and most importantly an affordable means of dead stock and animal waste disposal.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
The Pembrokeshire Coast isn’t what you might usually expect from a National Park. As well as being the only one that exists mainly due to its coastline, it’s also split into four parts, each one with its own quirks and qualities.
While the coastline may be the headline act, it’s backed by a stellar supporting cast and although nowhere in the National Park is more than ten miles from the sea, there’s far more to explore than you may think.
The Pembrokeshire Coast is one of the smallest of the UK’s National Parks but don’t let the size fool you, you’re at the gateway to a range of stunning landscapes. The quality coastline is backed by hills, estuaries, valleys and woodlands that allow you to discover something different.
MILES OF GOLDEN SANDS
Pembrokeshire is home to more Blue Flag beaches than any other county in the country, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find they’re not all traditional bucket and spade spots. Many of the lesser-known bays and coves offer a wilder way to be beside the seaside. Dozens of them also win Green Coast and Seaside Awards each year.
In 2019 11 beaches were awarded the Blue Flag: Amroth, Newgale, Saundersfoot, Dale, Whitesands, Coppet Hall, Tenby North, Tenby South, Tenby Castle, Poppit Sands and Lydstep.
12 achieved Green Coast Awards and 16 were named Seaside Award winners, eight beaches received both these accolades. To learn more about the beach awards, visit the Keep Wales Tidy website.

St Brynach Church Nevern

Tallis Amos Group Ltd
Tallis Amos Group (TAG) are one of the oldest John Deere dealerships in the UK with farming roots that can be traced back to the late 1800s. The Group was the result of a merger between two very long established family dealerships, Chris Tallis Farm Machinery in Evesham and Alexander and Duncan in Leominster, Shortly after the amalgamation of LAS in Narberth took place with more recently the group joining again with the acquisition of BS Mowers in Bristol.
The new Group offers the best of both worlds. We are proud of our nationally qualified TAG, sales and after-sales service/parts teams. Our larger scale makes us one of the UK’s largest JD dealerships and allows us to share the keenest prices. But we are still the family businesses we always were so you can expect the same care, response and friendly help.
Our Origins
The birth of the Tallis Amos Group in 2012 was an amalgamation of three reputable, strong, successful dealerships; Alexander & Duncan, Chris Tallis Farm Machinery and Parks and Grounds Machinery, pooling talent and resources to further expand capabilities to the customer. The ultimate aim being to streamline operations, enhance profitability to become leaner and more efficient as market demands increase.
Alexander & Duncan (Leominster) was founded in the late 1800s as an Ironmonger. Became a limited company in 1912, initially concentrating on barn building. In 1920, A&D became agricultural engineers. In 1967, they were appointed the seventh John Deere dealer in the UK. Simon’s father Cyril Amos joined the company in 1962 eventually, in 1984, taking over the business as owner, with colleague Brian Davies. In 2006, A&D were invited to share the dealer territory of Malvern with Chris Tallis Farm Machinery, which is where the joint working relationship started. In 2011, A&D was the largest single outlet John Deere dealer in the UK, an achievement that has rarely been fulfilled by other companies. Simon Amos, Cyril’s son, joined in 1991, assuming the senior role at A&D in 2006. Simon Amos is now TAG Sales Director.
Parks & Grounds Machinery (PGM) (Bidford on Avon). Founded in 1989 and originally setting up their store in Bromsgrove catering for domestic, home-owners and amenity facilities. In 1993, about the time John Deere got involved with professional golf equipment, PGM moved to larger premises in Redditch, expanding the business and appealing to a much wider audience. Following further expansion, the company moved facilities to Bidford-on-Avon where they developed an excellent reputation for an extensive customer base including professional green keeping as well as amenity customers and home-owners. The company joined forces with Chris Tallis Farm Machinery in 2011.
Chris Tallis Farm Machinery (Hinton-on-the-Green) Established in 1983 by Chris Tallis and his wife Gill. Chris was previously a Territory Manager for John Deere, the company developed a solid reputation for after-sales service and put John Deere well and truly on the map in an area where there had previously been little or no representation. Ben Tallis, Chris’ son joined the family business in 2004. In 2006 the company was asked to take responsibility for Gloucestershire and part of Wiltshire and Oxon, and opened two additional branches in Bibury and Dursley in 2007. In 2009, the company appointed Colin McIntyre as Director to run the Bibury and Dursley outlets at which point, Ben Tallis assumed the senior role, based at Evesham. Ben is now TAG Managing Director. In 2021 the Bibury depot relocated and the team moved to a brand new custom built depot in Kemble.
BS Mowers Ltd (Bristol) Established in 1986, BS Mowers were largely known for its expertise and knowledge within the Fine Turf Machinery Industry with excellent Customer Support and Service throughout Avon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and North Somerset, together with a proven track record supplying John Deere Machinery and other leading brands. Early in 2018 BS Mowers completed a successful merge with TAG.

Bluestone Brewery
Over the years, we’ve diversified our business and worked hard at becoming sustainable and implementing eco-friendly practices. This has led to us winning awards, including the Green Key Accreditation; it’s an international award that recognises environmentally sustainable businesses. We are proud to be the first Brewery in the world to be awarded this!
In 2023, we were awarded “Best Sustainable Business” at the SIBA Independent Beer awards in Liverpool.
We’re also committed to the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge. We take pride in doing our bit for the planet, whilst brewing delicious beers for everyone to enjoy.
So what is it that makes us so Green?
We have installed solar panels on the roof of the Brewery.
A zero-waste brewing process – spent malt and yeast goes to Kerry’s farm animals, hops go to the local gardening club and water is sent down to our reed bed filtration system.
We send our beer out in compostable cardboard moulds, no dividers or extra packaging, just a cardboard box with a 12 bottle mould inside and then sealed with paper tape.
All of our Electrical Energy is Green, Renewable energy. Provided by Haven Power.
We made our own compost toilets with recycled beer barrel urinals.
Excess cardboard is given to the local gardening club
You can purchase a Tree through our online shop and Good Nature Party will plant a tree on the Brewery land.
Wildflower roofs cover both our stage and our toilets.
Our shop is a crisp packet recycling point – drop off your empty packets to us to be recycled instead of them going to landfill.
We use 100% recycled paper in our office and any marketing materials are printed on recycled paper.
We have energy-saving light bulbs across the farm & Brewery.
We are a Refugee Aid collection point and Gardening Club meeting point. We hold local community events and the annual community Green Hop Beer.
We mix woodchip from a local tree surgeon with spent hops and malt to create our own compost!
We have raised just shy of £10,000 for various charities over the years, including: DPJ Foundation, Welsh Air Ambulance & The Watershed Foundation
We are using MicroAlgae to capture our waste Co2; part of a funded research project with Swansea University

Farmers Union of Wales (FUW)
How we work
Here at the FUW we pride ourselves on the grassroots connection we have with our farmers. We have a democratic and local structure, which mean members influence FUW policy and are the core of the Union.
Support and guidance from local offices
Every county in Wales has a local office, where our team of staff is headed up by a dedicated County Executive Officer. Your local CEO is your first port of call for a range of support services such as agri-policy queries, appeals, penalties, Glastir and Capital works, farm administration support (including assistance with SAF, BCMS movements and RPW online registration), and they can also provide professional guidance with planning, rights of ways and boundary disputes.
Representation and local issues from county groups
The county office meet with local membership to discuss the current state of the industry and help to further shape the FUW’s policies. Local FUW officials such as the County Chairman and County President, who have been elected by members, are also hands-on and have an important role to play in representing our members.
Representatives from these groups, the sector committees, the union officials and staff meet quarterly at the 'Ground Council' which is the democratically elected, governing body of the Union. The council reviews the Union's activity as well as discusses current and future agricultural issues affecting Welsh agriculture in a truly grass roots format.
Lobbying and campaigning
Our head office, based in Aberystwyth, is home to our marketing, membership, policy and press team, who are lobbying and influencing Governments at all levels in Westminster, Cardiff and Brussels. They work hard to advance the interests of those who derive an income from agriculture in Wales and whether on a local council group or national body they are protecting the interest of our members throughout the year.
Information and development from our committees
We also have 11 policy (standing) committees, including Animal Health and Welfare; Milk and Dairy Produce; Livestock, Wool and Marts; Land Use and Parliamentary; Education and Training; Diversification and the Younger Voice for Farming Committees. They meet to discuss key issues, receive information on the latest developments from the policy team, and create action points in the interest of advancing the sector.
These are made up of democratically elected farmer representatives from the Union’s 12 county branches, facilitated by a member of the policy team, and chaired by the elected member representative.

Moduron O.C. Davies Motors
O C Davies a’r Mab celebrating over 50 years of business, established in 1969 by Oliver Cromwell Davies at Bayview Garage Aberporth
Oliver started his career in the motor industry at a very young age first working at
Emlyn Garage in Newcastle Emlyn progressing to Evans Motors in Aberporth
Then in 1969 Oliver took the step to start his own business and created Bayview garage as a Petrol Station and workshop employing up to 5 mechanics, while Elizabeth raised the children and helped with the petrol station serving customers with fuel (as cars pulled in a bell would ring to alert them they had a customer). Oliver worked long hours as demand was high in both the workshop and petrol station from the RAE and the RAF who were prominent employers in Aberporth which was a great help to kickstart the business. Interestingly the first ever delivery of fuel to Bayview was £500, today this is in excess of £35000.
In the early 1970’s Whilst working in the garage oliver even managed to build a new family home in Parcllyn, and then in the late 1970’s he built the flats next to Bayview Garage including a restaurant and bar which both Oliver and Elizabeth worked in, this was eventually converted to a hair salon for their daughter Glesni.
In the early 1980’s Morlais joined the work force in the garage and with Oliver they ventured into buying and selling used cars, In 1986 they were offered the opportunity to take on the Renault franchise and the first new Renault cars were sold from Bayview Garage in August 1986.
It was not long before they outgrew the premises at Bayview and felt the need for a more prominent site. In the early 1990’s Land was purchased in Penparc to develop their current site. Starting out much the same as Bayview Garage there was a petrol station, alongside the new Renault showroom, the workshop facilities continued to be run from Bayview Garage in Aberporth until the new workshop was added to the site in Penparc. In the mid 1990’s Bayview closed its doors. As time moved on at their new site in Penparc a body shop, and car wash were added. As the business continued to grow in 2004 the move was made to build the second showroom to accommodate Honda alongside the existing Renault showroom.
Realising there was an opening in Pembrokeshire for Honda Morlais and Oliver first rented premises at Old Hakin Road in Haverfordwest and Roundabout Honda was opened, after a couple of years and striving for their own premises they purchased the site at Neyland where roundabout Honda moved to.
As business continued to grow the opportunity arose to purchase the site next to roundabout Honda and this was opened as a used car centre.
In 2016 the opportunity arose to expand the business to Carmarthen and our flagship MG Dealership was opened, this has since been extended to our Neyland and Cardigan sites.
In approximately 2014 Oliver still striving to continue working he re-opened the doors at Bayview.
Today the third generation (Morlais’s son Cynyr) has joined the business in Carmarthen as it continues to thrive and grow.
Oliver and Morlais are proud of their achievements with Renault, Dacia, Honda and MG and would like to thank its loyal staff who over the years have contributed to their continued success.
